- I believe the modem in question is manufactured by ATI based on the
- Lucent Technologies (formerly AT&T Microelectronics) controllerless
- reference design. AST shipped this with a Creative Vibra-16S sound
- card that connects to the modem with a small internal cable. The
- modem's audio output goes to the output mixer of the SoundBlaster to
- share the SoundBlaster's audio amp and speakers.

- You can do the same wiring yourself. Find the 4-position header on
- the modem card. Use a twisted pair to connect the first two or last
- two pins (it doesn't matter which) to the PC-speaker input header on
- your sound card. Make sure you buzz it out so that you connect grounds
- together and signals together. Use your sound card's mixer software
- to get the levels where you want them.
